Please note: Patrons arriving after the performance has begun will be seated between pieces, at the discretion of the ushers. They may be placed in the nearest available seat and can return to their assigned seat during intermission.
Renowned for their collaborative spirit, the GRAMMY-Award winning Orpheus Chamber Orchestra has played without a conductor since their inception, performing with “edge-of-the-seat intensity” and displaying an “infectious love for making music” (NY Times) for audiences around the world. Making his long-awaited Orpheus debut, violinist James Ehnes glamorizes the gorgeous French aesthetic in Saint-Saëns’ Introduction and Rondo Capriccioso and Chausson’s Poème. To honor his 150th birthday, a new commission brings Ravel's Piano Trio in A Minor into the chamber orchestra repertoire. Composer and violist Jessica Meyer has a keen ear for ensemble color, and her friends in Orpheus are ready to dispatch her newly commissioned Cartes Postales.
Ticket prices range from $17 for Cornell students and $19 for general public students to between $39 to $49 for general public adults.
Patrons with limited mobility may gain access to Bailey Hall through the entrance to the lower lobby at the southwest corner of the building (to the left of the main doors as you face Bailey Hall from the plaza).
